How do I care for my wooden spoon?

  1. Wash your spoon with mild soap in warm water after each use. Gently scrub with a sponge if needed.

  2. Never leave the spoon to soak in water. Don’t put the wooden spoon in the dishwasher.

  3. Blot the spoon dry after each cleaning and allow it to air dry.

  4. NOTE: If the spoon cracks or breaks, stop using the spoon. These cracks can hold onto food and bacteria.

  5. NOTE: Pigmented foods such as berries and tomatoes can stain the wood. The stains should fade over time.

  6. NOTE: Wooden utensils can absorb odors from strong scents such as garlic.

How do I maintain my wooden spoon?

  1. Apply more food-safe oil when the spoon looks and feels dry.

  2. Generously apply the oil and allow it to sit for an hour before wiping off any excess. Allow it to sit for 24 hours and wipe off any remaining excess oil the next day before its next use. NOTE: Make sure the spoon is completely dry before adding the oil.

  3. Avoid using olive oil or vegetable oil as finishing oils as these can go rancid over time.

  4. Mineral oil and Beeswax, Pure Tung oil, and Walnut oil are some examples of food-safe finishing oils.

How should I take care of the wooden rattle?

  • The wooden rattle can be cleaned with a diluted vinegar and water solution or a diluted soap and water solution. Use a soft cloth or brush to clean the toy and let it dry completely.

  • Don’t soak the wood as this can cause damage to the rattle.

  • Don’t use bleach on the rattle.

  • Avoid leaving the rattle in moist environments or harsh direct sunlight. This can cause the rattle to fade and/or crack over time.

  • NOTE: If the rattle should crack or break, it should immediately be removed from small children. Divots, scratches, and scuff marks will likely occur with use and are okay for continued use.

  • The finish will eventually wear off and any food-safe finish can be reapplied to restore the rattle.

  • These rattles were finished with Tried & True Original Wood Finish.

How do I care for my wooden pendant?

  • Avoid leaving the pendant in moist environments or harsh direct sunlight, which can cause fading and cracking. 

  • Divots, scratches, and scuff marks will likely occur with use.

  • The finish can eventually wear off and any food-safe finish can be reapplied to restore the pendant. This pendant was finished with Tried & True Original Wood Finish.

  • As the pendant is small. Use caution around small children as it can be a choking hazard.
